I Need Money,
Housing & Food
Just to Survive

If you're thinking "I need a place to stay tonight," "I might get evicted," or "I don't know how I'm going to eat today" — you're in the right place.

We start with survival. Roof, food, basic safety, and clothing come first.

Our navigators have been homeless, hungry, and where you are right now.

☀️
Morning 6 AM – Noon
  • Our team is ready starting 8 AM — call, text, or book and we move immediately
  • Morning food programs serve breakfast — no ID required, walk in welcome
  • Shelter offices open at 8 AM — we check tonight's bed availability for you
  • Emergency cash programs open at 8 AM — apply in person or by phone with our help
  • If you have kids: family shelter and food programs give families priority — we navigate same day
⛅
Afternoon Noon – 6 PM
  • Most offices and services are still open — best window for in-person visits before 4 PM
  • Afternoon meal programs serve until 2–3 PM — we know the nearest locations near you
  • Register for tonight's shelter now — most intake opens 3–6 PM and beds fill fast
  • Benefits take time to process — starting an application today is not tomorrow's problem
  • Book a My Needs Session — one conversation sets the whole plan in motion
🌇
Evening 6 PM – Midnight
  • Get checked into shelter before intake closes — we help you find the right place tonight
  • Evening meal programs serve until 8–9 PM — ask us for locations near you
  • Keep ID, medications, and important papers on you at all times
  • If staying outdoors: stay in lit public areas and let someone know where you are
  • For immediate danger or an emergency, contact local emergency services. Help Is Hope provides pre-crisis support.
🌙
Overnight Midnight – 6 AM
  • Most resources open at 8 AM — you cannot do much right now and that is okay
  • For immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services.
  • For a mental health emergency, contact an appropriate crisis service.
  • If you have shelter: stay where you are — leaving at night increases risk
  • Write down your top 3 things to handle at 8 AM — we can help with every one of them
  • Cold night? Warming centers are available — use our Free Resources button for the nearest one

We Hear You
What's Stopping You?

Tap what's in your way — we have a workaround for every one.

I can't get there — no car, no bus fare
You don't have to go anywhere first. Our sessions are available by phone or Zoom — you can start right now from wherever you are. Transportation assistance programs exist in California. Talk to Someone and let us know you need help getting there — we'll figure it out together.
My phone is dead or I don't have one
Free phones exist — you may qualify today. Lifeline phone programs are available and you may qualify immediately — we navigate that with you. Shelters, food programs, and community spaces all have phone charging. Talk to Someone or use our Free Resources button — once you reach us, we help you get set up.
I don't have ID or documents
You can still get food and shelter without ID. Most emergency food and shelter programs do not require ID to walk in. For replacing documents, we navigate the entire process with you — birth certificates, Social Security cards, and state IDs can often be replaced for free during a housing crisis. Talk to Someone — we do this all the time.
I don't speak English well
Language is never a barrier here. We offer sessions in Spanish and coordinate interpretation for other languages. Most emergency programs in the area have multilingual support available. Just let us know your language when you book or use our Free Resources button — we communicate in your language.
I'm scared they'll report me or judge me
Asking for food and shelter does not get you reported. Emergency food and shelter programs do not contact immigration authorities. Help Is Hope is a peer-led service — not a government agency. If you're undocumented, you can still get food, clothing, and emergency shelter. We won't report you, judge you, or make you prove you deserve help.
